My husband and I had a 4-day destination wedding for 100 pax in Sri Lanka (we are from Australia and the UK). We were recommended Akushla by a close friend and after interviewing 3 wedding planners in Sri Lanka we chose to work with Akushla. In the initial interview, Akushla was kind, caring and clear with how the process would work. I work in events myself and her passion for planning weddings was immediately clear.
Over the next 9 months we were in close contact with Akushla, Nayantara and Amanda with biweekly/weekly calls and regular WhatsApp messages. The whole team were always available to help with our questions, were professional (with shared documents and processes) and excited to explore new ideas together. They went above and beyond to ensure the wedding was personalised to us.
We went on one recce trip to Sri Lanka to meet with Akushla and see the venues, which gave us even more confidence. Akushla's passion, calm demeanour and advice based on years of experience blew us away.
When it came to the wedding itself, the whole team went above and beyond to ensure every guest was taken care of and every detail was considered. I hope the team enjoyed bringing this wedding together as much as we enjoyed the whole experience. I really can't thank them enough.

Our wedding was BEYOND perfection. There was NOT a single thing we would ever change about that day. I was also kinda putting this off because I honestly don’t have the words to thank you properly, we wish we could given you very long hugs and that would explain how thankful we truly are.
Every single person at our wedding was blown away and they themselves didn’t have the words to explain. Our families were smiling ear to ear and when we later asked them if the day was as they expected, my Mamis and Nandis cried saying it was beyond their best imagination. Ammi and appachchi have not stopped “kello thundenek thamai event planners la and everything Nim mentioned was sorted and done the next minute and none of this would’ve been possible without them”. Our families and friends love and adore you.
Aku and Amanda, when we first spoke, we spoke about just the wedding and through this journey we have very unfairly requested one thing after another. We added the tour and the welcome dinner and you guys didn’t bat an eye. Our friends were truly grateful they got to see our beautiful country and my hope is that they’ll eventually visit on their own now that they’ve seen a glimpse of her beauty. Thank you for being so patient with us and for always ALWAYS accommodating our requests.
After our very perfect Adelaide wedding Akila and I said, imaging being able to say “oh what a perfect wedding it was” after Sri Lanka too… then we thought to ourselves, it would also be so very unfair for the same couple to have two bloody brilliant weddings and for us to have lived through every single second of it!
We’ve danced SO much that we’ve both been limping the last 24 hours but man would be do it again (the dancing) yes we would!!!
Tara, thank you for everything. We are so sorry for the hassle and running behind schedule on the day. But thank you for navigating it with such grace and making sure everything was absolutely perfect.
Thanks for praying for the weather and really everything. I’m literally crying typing this but we do truly hope we can stay in touch and we’d love to see you guys when we’re back in Lanka or if you guys ever find yourselves in Australia. I am so thankful for the friendship this wedding brought us.

My Husband and I are from Toronto,Canada and had a destination wedding at Cinnamon Bentota in Sri Lanka. We had the pleasure of working with Akushla, Nayantara and Amanda. We hired the team for full service and the team did a fantastic job. Throughout the planning process Akushla had continous communication with me through whatsApp and google meet calls with me biweekly. Her and Nayantara provided me multiple vendors to select from and set up all my calls with them so I could choose the perfect vendor for our wedding. They also managed majority of the vendors when selected.
When I arrived in Sri Lanka a week before the wedding her and her team set up all my trials and ensured to organize site visits and cake tastings for me and my husband. Additionally we used her Florist company (Flowerbar) for our decor and she did an amazing job making my vision come true. Its always nerve racking when planning a wedding abroad cause you don't know how things will turn out but it was everything could imagine and more. Really loved how our wedding came together thanks to Akushla, Nayantara and Amanda. Also special shout out to Nayantara. Our wedding was early March and she is STILL helping us with some issues with our wedding photos. Would definitely recommend working with these ladies

Akushla and her team were amazing. It was a destination wedding for us, so everything up until a few days before the ceremony was done remotely. Akushla and her staff were our eyes, ears, hands and brains on location. She managed all the vendors, wedding location etc. We would get timely updates and connect over vc to go over questions, plans etc.
During the wedding (and even before during our welcome drinks) she and her team were on top of everything and quick to adjust / change things if we had last minute requests/questions. Also her band, photographers, videographers, florist etc. recommendations were spot on. It was a pleasure working with her and I would highly recommend her as a wedding planner.
